The only tool required for installation is a screwdriver that fits the screws that came with your VESA mount.

Great mount

Everything I wanted

It works, but it is VERY HEAVY.

This adapter works OK. It would be nice if it had a little angle adjustment to it. However, it is VERY HEAVY. If you are using a freestanding monitor stand, be sure this will sit in a low position, or you stand is very bottom heavy. Otherwise you risk it tumbling over.

Flimsy

Tons of bounce. The brackets move the monitors away from the vesa mount too much and bad angle. This causes a lot of stress on the arm mounts and they want to tilt down. Cant tighten arm mounts enough to stop that. If the monitor bracket design wasnt so far away the leverage issue would go away.

Great for a vertical setup, not so much for a horizontal

The mount was simple enough to put together (I'd recommend having a 2nd pair of hands to help), but if you want your monitor to be horizontal like my main display, the weight would be too much and my arm mount would droop. I'm sure this depends on the mount you have and not the actual product (the adapter), so I would just keep in mind the weight limits of your mount. The adapter works well with my Samsung U28D590D monitor set as a vertical display (the one on the left).
